Delinquent Accounts
April 24, 2026
Due to the number of delinquent accounts, especially the number of repeat accounts that are on the cutoff list and the burden of collection, locking and unlocking meters, the Archibald Water System Board of Directors created the following policy:
Delinquent Accounts that are placed on the Lock Meter/ Cut Off List (2 months past due) will be required to pay the full balance based on the last billing plus a $75 Disconnect/Reconnect Fee before service will be restored. No longer will partial payments be accepted. The Cut Off List is developed and becomes official at close of business of the Due Date posted on the bill. Customers who are at risk of meeting the Due Date should not make payment by mail but instead should make the payment in person or at the Office Drop Slot before the Due Date. The $75 reconnect fee will apply to all Cut off list accounts even before the meter is locked.
The Board recognizes that this maybe expensive for those that have service disconnected due to timely non-payment but these accounts are added expense and workload burden for the water system. Again, this policy is only for those accounts 2 months past due. This policy is consistent with other utilities.
